My natural selection for technical waters and difficult fish.
I've created this selection based on my daily experience as a Fishing Guide in South Tyrol with Fly Fishing Dolomitico . Those who fish with me know that when the waters are shallow and crystal clear, or when we encounter selective grayling and wary brown trout, naturalness is the only winning strategy.
In this box I have included the 6 Pheasant Tail models that I consider essential, ranging from the darkest shades to those with small points of light:
Killer Grayling: My deadly weapon specifically for grayling.
Purple Phupa: A novel variant that I use successfully in particular lighting conditions.
Pink Lady and Dark Prince: For when you need that extra touch of contrast.
Bianca e Nera: A timeless classic for Alpine waters.
Pheasant Tail Classic: The nymph with a peacock collar that can never be missed.
This is the "base camp" selection for any outing in our Alps: imitative, discreet and absolutely indispensable.
Box Configuration: Each selection contains 18 nymphs (3 for each model listed above). Choose the variant based on the strength of your stream:
Heavy Variant (My choice for sustained currents):
12 Nymphs (6 pairs, one per model) on #14 Hook with 3.5mm Tungsten Bead
6 Nymphs (one per model) on #16 Hook with 3.0 mm Tungsten Ball
Light Variant (My choice for flats and scrapers):
12 Nymphs (6 pairs, one per model) on #16 Hook with 3.0 mm Tungsten Ball
6 Nymphs (one per model) on #14 Hook with 3.5mm Tungsten Ball
