My battle nymphs for snow waters and large Marmorata.
There are days when finesse isn't necessary; you just need to be seen. I created this selection with the challenging conditions I often face as a guide in mind: snowmelt, high post-rainfall levels, or the large, dark potholes on the valley floor.
These nymphs are constructed entirely of high-visibility synthetic materials to pierce cloudy water and sink quickly. The selection includes the most visible and provocative models in my arsenal:
Olivetta: Deadly for its sinking ability and smooth profile.
Danymph : A modern classic for nymph fishing.
Pineapple: Bright yellow/gold color to stimulate lethargic fish.
Ciapapess: Ideal for probing the bottom in search of large sizes.
French Nymph : For a technical yet visible presentation.
Duracell : The problem-solving wild card
If the water is cloudy or dark, these are the flies I tie on the leader for Fly Fishing Dolomitico customers, designed to provoke instinctive reactions even in large Marmorate.
Box Configuration: Each selection contains 18 nymphs (3 for each model listed above). Choose the variant based on the strength of your stream:
Heavy Variant (My choice for sustained currents):
12 Nymphs (6 pairs, one per model) on #14 Hook with 3.5mm Tungsten Bead
6 Nymphs (one per model) on #16 Hook with 3.0 mm Tungsten Ball
Light Variant (My choice for flats and scrapers):
12 Nymphs (6 pairs, one per model) on #16 Hook with 3.0 mm Tungsten Ball
6 Nymphs (one per model) on #14 Hook with 3.5mm Tungsten Ball
